Jelly Roll Rug

What can you make with 50 yards of batting strips and 2 1/2" wide strips of fabric? Why a Jelly Roll Rug of course! Choose a favorite jelly roll and let Kara guide you through the process of making a unique rug for any space in your home.

Requirements: Supply list: 40 - 2 1/2" x WOF strips (or 1 Jelly Roll) 50 yd x 2 1/2" Bosal Katahdin batting Jelly Roll Rug pattern Sewing machine with #20 Bernina foot (or Open Toe foot) and #37 foot (or ?? foot) Walking foot (if machine does not have duel feed) Jeans needles Extra bobbins Wonder clips 50 wt. thread (1000 yd or more) 5-10 Pins Scissors Rotary cutter and small mat Small ruler Large bowl to hold your "Yarn Ball" (approx. size of a basketball) Rectangular plastic container to store layered strips Pre-class sewing: Sew the 40 ? 2 ?? x WOF strips together end to end, on the diagonal (like a binding strip). DO NOT press in half like binding.
Instructor: Kara Guthrie
Instructor Bio: A mother of 3 and a former U.S. soldier, Kara found her zen through quilting. Her hippie side will guide you through new techniques and quilting tricks while keeping your calm and motivated. Although she has only been quilting for 3 years, her sassy side will show off her love of bright colors and bold patterns. Students beware? she has been known to spontaneously break into song and will accept chocolate as tips!
