Instructor: Isobel Meekins
Instructor Bio: I have enjoyed sewing and doing other crafts since childhood. In 1993, I caught the quilting bug and have been addicted ever since. After over 10 years as a middle school special education teacher, I moved on to teaching quilting classes for local and state quilt guilds, numerous quilt shops, and the Newport News Department of Parks and Recreation in Newport News, Virginia. In addition to teaching, I write my own simple-to-follow quilt patterns, organize quilting events and trips including annual quilt retreats in Capon Springs, West Virginia, and work for various quilt vendors and pattern designers. I also worked as a technical editor for The Quilt Pattern Magazine from 2012-2018. Several of my patterns can be found at and I am thrilled to now also be part of the Sunshine Quilt Corner staff! My motto is, "Quilting should be fun and relaxing!"
