
This class offers several skirt lengths to choose from for the pattern that participants can choose from.

Requirements: | Sewing machine Rotary cutter Cutting mat Pins Marking pen Thread Seam ripper Fabric: Full length skirt (View C) - 4 1/8 yards of 45in wide fabric Knee length skirt (View D) - 2 yards of 45in wide fabric Choose soft fabrics like laundered cottons/batiks, but avoid slippery fabric if this is your first garment. Plaids, one way designs, and stripes are NOT recommended for this class. Pattern: Simplicity 2184 H5 (waist 23?-28?) or R5 (waist 30?-44?) 1 1/4 yards of one inch elastic Dressmaker shears Measuring tape Small scissors 3 safety pins Thimble (optional) Quilting ruler 6 1/2 x 24 inch (optional) You will not need your sewing machine on Day 1 of class. Please prewash your fabrics prior to class. |

Instructor Bio: | Diane Short has been using needle and thread most her life: sewing, knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, etc. Early in her marriage, she bought a used Singer 401A like the one her mom sewed on. It was the start of a beautiful friendship. She made countless clothes for her two young boys along with clothes for herself. She ran a Home Dec business for eight years making window treatments of all kinds, pillows, duvet covers, and more. She closed her business to work as a mechanical engineer at the shipyard to put her two sons through college. Diane is now retired and enjoying more time to sew. |
