| Requirements: | **Pattern: Simplicity S9334 Size 10 - 18 (Bust between 32-1/2 and 40 inches), Size 20W - 28W (Bust 42 - 50 inches) **5/8 yd of 3/8” wide elastic. If you want 3/4 length sleeves, get 1-3/8 yd of 3/8” elastic. 1/2 yard lightweight fusible interfacing (I like Pellon’s SF101 Shapeflex) Fabric: For size 10 - 18: 2-3/8 yards of 45” wide fabric, or 1-3/8 yards of 60” wide fabric For size 20W - 28W: 2-5/8 yards of 45” wide fabric, or 2-3/8 yards of 60” wide fabric For all sizes, if you want 3/4 length sleeves (View A), increase the yardage by 1/2 yard Choose a soft fabric like laundered cottons or batiks. Stay away from slippery fabric if this is your first garment. Avoid plaids, stripes or one-way designs. Dressmaker shears Pins (I like glass head, 1-½” or longer, but bring whatever you like.) Measuring tape Chalk Marking pencil (This is optional. Pins or clipping can be used instead, but sometimes it is easier to use a marking pencil.) Sewing machine and accessories Seam ripper Small scissors 3 Safety pins to use for pulling elastic through casing Thread to match material |
